About us
What is “THEREFORE, JAPAN” ?
What images do you have of Japan?
Sushi, Tempura, Sumo, Anime?
All certainly have their importance, but each of it is only a small facet of Japan.
People in Japan don’t eat sushi every day.
Some don’t watch anime at all.
Small as this island nation is, it has developed its 2000-year history, diverse foods and cultural forms, with customs and practices unique to each region and even to tiny localities within a region.
This means that what can appear “typically Japanese” from the outside may differ considerably from what people in their own hometowns would define as typical.
“THEREFORE, JAPAN” tells the stories of the history and culture that have shaped today’s Japan. We are eager to share our stories with you and hope they will leave you even more intrigued and inspired to explore.
